Fantastic Fun Learning with Fruit!

In Room 1 we have been studying Procedural Writing.  The purpose of this genre is to explain how to do something.   One of the most common forms is recipe writing.
Recipes generally include an ingredients list and a method.  In the method, the steps are logically sequenced and written in simple present tense e.g. cut, fold, stir etc.
We decided to write our own recipes for inspiring fruit based drinks.  After writing our own recipes, we had the opportunity to make our drinks.   It was a fun day of pureeing, mixing, blending, stirring, cutting, decorating and sipping.  The outcome was divine tasting smoothies and mocktails that looked a treat.

A huge thank you to all the parents for supporting us and for ensuring that we had all the ingredients we needed.  We hope you enjoy these photos and recipes.  Remember, summer’s only just around the corner, so consider giving one of these tantalising drinks a go!
